What is SoilSponge™? SoilSponge™ is a soil supplement comprised of a blend of 6 natural ingredients. The main ingredient is highly refined coconut coir, a coarse fibre obtained from the tissues surrounding the seed of the coconut palm. The other ingredients are proprietary, but entirely natural.

How to Use SoilSponge™ For Container Plantings In the bottom of the container, place .5 to 1 inch of dry SoilSponge™. Before adding potting mix to the container, mix in 1 part SoilSponge™ for every 6 parts of soil or potting mix used. Plant and water as usual.
When it's Time to Repot Use SoilSponge™ at repotting time to improve and condition the soil. Tap the sides and bottom of the pot to gently loosen the plant. Hold the plant's stem between your fingers and turn the pot upside down to remove the plant. In the bottom of the empty pot, place .50 to 1 inch of SoilSponge™. Before adding new soil or potting mix to the container, mix in 1 part SoilSponge™ for every 6 parts of soil or potting mix used. Repot your plant and gently firm it into place and water well.
For Vegetable and Flower Beds Tomatoes, roses and other moisture loving plants stay more consistently moist longer when you use SoilSponge™. Dig the soil to loosen the top layer then spread a 1.5 - 2 inch layer of SoilSponge™ over the soil together with a quality garden fertilizer. Mix the SoilSponge™ and fertilizer into the top 6 to 9 of the soil. Alternatively, you can place 1 to 2 inches of SoilSponge™ in the bottom of each hole at planting time.
For Lawn Repair and Seeding SoilSponge™ helps establish newly seeded lawns and helps repaired lawn areas retain much needed moisture that is required for grass seed to germinate. Dig the soil to loosen 6 to 8 inches down and blend 1 to 1.5 inches of SoilSponge™ into the loosened soil together with a pre-seeding fertilizer.
